OSTUNI

The White City

The city is located 8 km from the Adriatic coast and is dotted with rows of centuries-old olive trees that make the landscape truly breathtaking. Renowned tourist destination, Ostuni boasts a wonderful medieval village, full of narrow streets and whitewashed houses in a maze that resembles an Arab casbah. A walk in the old city, known as the "land" to distinguish it from the more recent "marina", offers picturesque views of alleys, steep stairways, courtyards and small squares overlooked by white houses embellished with geraniums, craft shops, typical restaurants and small shops.

TORRE GUACETO

Marine Natural Area

The Torre Guaceto State Nature Reserve is a protected natural area located on the Adriatic coast of the upper Salento, a few kilometers from the centers of Carovigno and San Vito dei Normanni and 17 km north of Brindisi. The landscape is typical of the Mediterranean maquis, a riot of colors from the green of the centuries-old olive trees, to the yellow of the beaches and dunes, to the crystalline blue of the sea which breaks on the dark cliffs. The marine reserve is in turn divided into three areas: zone A, B and C. Zone A is a totally protected area, and this means that navigation is completely prohibited in this zone, while zones B and C guarantee bathing and navigation at pre-established times. For tourists, the consortium that manages the reserve organizes daily trekking, bike trekking, sailing courses, scuba diving and sea watching courses.

In particular, there are two areas where it is possible to admire most of these buildings Rione Monti and Aia Piccola. Do not miss a visit to the Trullo Sovrano which has been converted into a museum and to Casa Pezzolla.
